Chicalim

Chicalim is a beautiful village situated in the small taluka of Mormugao in Goa. One often comes to this pleasant village while on the way to or from the Dabolim airport. Here one can see the village scene of Goa and also the culture of Goa. On the way also one can see the exotic island of St. Jacinto.

There is a church in Chicalim that was built in 1625 known as the St. Bartholomew church, which celebrates the feasts of St Francis Xavier and Mary Immaculate in the month of December. One can also see the Palloti Retreat House here that holds the feast of its patron on 22nd January.

There is also a temple located in Alto-Chicalim known as the Shri Sateri Devasthan. The Dabolim airport can be seen from here.

Another interesting thing in the Chicalim village in Goa is the exhibited Seahawk fighter ground attack aircraft that can be seen at the Chicalim intersection which played an active role in the Goa operation in 1961 and in 1971.
