Cavelossim one of the last major settlements in southwest Salcete is situated 11 km south of Colva. The Church of Cavelossim dedicated to The Santa Cruz or Holy Cross, is not too complicated in its design, yet has a charm surrounding it. It has a simple and clean façade, and is almost a mixture of its parent church designs.

The flat altar, detached canopies are some of the features taken from the earlier church designs. It is a site for extensive hotel development and the beach is quite similar to the Varca beach in terms of its cleanliness, silence and less occupancy.

The Cavelossim beach is one of the most famous tourist destinations in South Goa and lies between the Arabian sea and Sal River. Its surroundings are a delight for an artist with the picture perfect paddy fields, the Sal river and the soft sands create an ambience for a perfect celebration.

The entertainment and water sports are almost similar to that of the Varca beach. There are many hawkers selling various handicrafts and other items on the beach. Various resorts renting out rooms for accommodation and the Goan multicuisine makes it a treat for any person, whether it be a Goan or a foreign tourist.
