Nirmala Institute Of Education

The Nirmala Institute of Education Panaji Goa, a Secondary Teacher Education College was established in 1963 by the Society of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary in response to the then urgent need for trained teachers in post liberation Goa. The main goal of the Nirmala Institute of Education at that time was to provide the pedagogical bases for educational expansion through formal teacher education.
In 1985 it was affiliated to the newly established Goa University. Forty-six years from its inception the College continues to serve the community with dedication. It offers a variety of courses in Education Through the College, efforts have always been made to conscientize the Teacher-trainees and make them aware of the religious, social and economic situation of the Country.
Nirmala Institute of Education forges ahead in the prime endeavour to instill a sense of vocation in teachers and professionals in allied fields; to empower them to achieve their highest potential through a spirit of commitment to standards of excellence and to nuture universal values that will lead to social transformation in the local, national and global context.
