Lynx’ was formed in 1994 with three ex-members of ‘Link’ -- Terry Vaz (guitar), Conny Fernandes, (keyboard) and Augusto de Melo (bass guitar). Jude Vaz former member of ‘Big City Band’, also joined his brother along with James Rebello (drums). Lynx soon became famous for their live music, and always had extraordinary musicians like Glen Pinto who could possibly be India’s best Latin American/Salsa drummer, Cassie who plays drums for Colonial Cousins and RABI, Domnic Pereira, Eddie Pinto, among others. The band put in long hours of dedicated practice in order to give their audience ‘unadulterated’ entertainment which eventually took them to England, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, etc for their shows. Terence feels that Goa is able to produce musicians of high quality because music has always been a part of Goan culture. “Goans are very talented, but I feel saddened that talent is being killed by sequenced music.” Lynx’s album “Viva Goenkar”, which has the credit of being the first CD ever to be made in Konkani music was released in 1996. Terry and Daryl have two original songs in the album, which was a huge success. Lynx is all set to record a new album of original songs which is likely to be released in December.
