Curtains finally came down on the three-day Carnival festivities in Salcete, with former Miss India and Bollywood starlet Neha Dhupia making her special appearance at the Bye-Bye Carnival 2007 organised by Margao Municipal Council at the SGPDA grounds here on Tuesday evening.

The Bye-Bye Carnival 2007 event coordinated by VJT Entertainments got an added touch as Dhupia made her guest appearance to loud cheers from music buffs and carnival revellers, even as Mumbai based "Band of Boys" of MTV and Channel V fame played scintillating music, belting popular numbers till late in the night.

Goa's popular band Status 4 and Connie M also performed at the show entertaining the crowds with rich Konkani programme.

Elsewhere in Salcete, the maiden float parade organised by the Curtorim Cultural Committee in Curtorim turned out a grade
success with around 36 floats - both local and outside - making their presence felt in the parade. The parade which was flagged off
by Committee President Bruno Lourenco started from the Maina market and culminated at Curtorim market. The parade was
followed by a musical show by Lawry Travasso and his group.

As in the past, Benaulim beach played host to the traditional float parade, drawing crowds of enthusiastic carnival revellers.
