Description : Viva Goa is Sydney 's only Goan restaurant. We bring you our native cuisine from this jewel on the west coast of India, which was once a Portuguese colony from the mid 16th century till as late as 1961. The Portuguese influence can be found in Goa 's art, architecture and most notably, in its cuisine.

Viva Goa is authentic in its presentation of Goan curries and specialities. Each and every dish has been passed down to its chef and owner, Gus D'souza by his mother and grandmother. Gus is a trained Indian chef, having worked with the Sheraton group in India and then in Switzerland as well. But when it comes to his beloved native cuisine, there is no doubt that he owes credit to- his mum!!

Part of this joi de vivre felt at Viva Goa is from the spirit of Goa and exists in all Goans, no matter where they live. The atmosphere is always lively and friendly.
Viva Goa couldn't have been set in more perfect a location than among Pyrmont's few remaining 130-year-old clinker brick Heritage cottages. It has a lovely outdoor seating area for those balmy summer nights, making you feel like you are actually in warm, sunny Goa.
