Description : A secret garden on the edge of the Arabian Sea, South Goa. Approached via a country lane from the village of Betalbatim. The garden is a relaxing retreat by day and a romantic dining room under the stars at night.

The gardens are known as Greenland due to the beautiful display of plants which can be seen at their best during the holiday season October to May. The bar and restaurant are very close to the lightly populated white sandy beach of Betalbatim just south of Majorda Beach and north of Colva Beach. Drinks/food can be brought to tables by the sea if required.

Superb hospitality and good food. Champagne parties can be arranged for all occassions - with live music and fireworks if required.

Guests sometimes refer to the gardens as Dreamland when they experience ayurveda in the Ayurvedic Centre in Greenland Gardens. Ayurveda is an ancient form of medicine usually involving massage with herbal oils. In Greenland, simple theraputic ayurvedic massages are given by qualified therapists from the state of Kerala, the home of ayurveda.

For those seeking an ayurveda holiday at a hideaway location, a beach house is available in North Kerala. The beach house has three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. A seven hour train journey (day or night) links Goa to North Kerala. Tours to Kerala can be arranged (accompanied if required). The beach house is for the use of a single party only - one to six guests.

The house is fully staffed. There is a jeep available for local journeys and for driving on the nearby Drive-in-Beach. It is also possible to fly from Goa to Calicut in North Kerala.

Greenland has two very simple beach cottages available for holidays. Guests can be collected from the airport or the railway station. The little cottages are very popular despite the cold water showers (which get warmer as the day goes on). A regular guest from UK regards one of the cottages as her own and is always reluctant to go home!

We have horses which are available for riding on the beach.
