8tbsps. Coconut (grated)
1 tbsps. Coriander seeds
3 flakes garlic
1 tsp. Raw rice
1 tsp. Tamarind
1 onion (sliced)
2 green chilies (sliced)
Juice of ½ a coconut
¼ tsp. Sugar or jaggery
A good pinch of turmeric powder
Wash and slice the gherkins lengthwise.
Grind the next 6 ingredients to a thick paste. Heat a tablespoon of oil and fry the onion till soft.
Mix green chilies and gherkins.
Stir in spice paste and the remaining ingredients. Cook till gherkins are tender, adding slat to taste.
