Loutolim village is well known mostly for the finest examples of Goan architecture observed in the houses and mansions built over here giving them a natural Goan feel to anyone visiting this village. It is also well known for the Ancestral Goa museum that recreates the Goan rural life as it was a hundred years ago.

The countryside is widespread with lush green paddy fields and serene lakes. Some houses have the contemporary Portuguese architecture feel to them which is widely observed in the Baroque type windows and shell type windows. There are also houses which portray typical Goan village life with presence of verandahs in front of almost every house.

There is a small church in Loutolim with a simple façade as is observed in most of the Goa villages in Salcete taluka. It is known as the Saviour of the World church and is known to have been built in 1586. There is also a school here, including the priests quarters and a walled cemetery to add to it.

The route northwards is extremely pleasant leading first to Quelossim, the place of meditation of Parvati which has culminated in dedication of a temple to her, further to Cortalim, the original site of the Shiva linga worshipped at the Mangueshi Temple now at Priol. This route joins the Panjim Margao road just beyond the ferry station at a road bridge across the Zuari river.
