The Shri Morjai temple is situated in Morjim amidst natural surroundings in the Pernem taluka. This ancient historical temple is dedicated to Goddess, Shri Morjai who is known to be one of the seven sisters who came and resided in different parts of Goa along with their brother, Shri Khetoba.

The Morjai temple at Morjim possesses an elegant look as the temple walls are decorated with rare and extinct 'Kaavi' art friezes. The original 'Mukhmandap' and its window grills also have various geometric and floral patterns which are depicted with this unique 'Kaavi' art. The exterior 'Sabhamandap' dates to 1936 AD and has rectangular columns supporting a balcony above.

The main festival celebrated at the Shri Morjai temple is 'Kalas Utsav' which is celebrated once in every three, five, seven or nine years and which lasts for nearly a month. The festival begins from the 'Phalgun Shudda Panchami' and concludes with a big religious and cultural affair in which people from nearby places gather in large numbers.

Other festivals celebrated at the Shri Morjai temple include Gudi Padwa, Dussehra, the annual zatra 'divzam' and ghodemodni.
