Poroscodem is a small village in the Pernem taluka that takes one back into the past of Goa. There is a lot of greenery in this North Goa village and one can often see some fishing canoes along the river side. The people living here are known as the Poroscodkars.

One of the main attractions in the Poroscodem village is the Mauli temple that is nearly 150 years old. Here the Shigmo festival is celebrated for seven days, which attracts thousands of devotees. Also a number of people come here during December or January for the zatra that is celebrated.
