1 Science Film Festival
  Science Film Festival will be held from Jan 27th to Feb 10th from 10:30am to 5:00pm at the AC Auditorium,Goa Science Center at Miramar in Panjim. In this 15-day festival, nearly 70 films of varied durations will be screened. Four shows (10:30am to 11:30am, 12:00pm to 1:00pm, 2:30pm to 3:30pm and 4:00pm to 5:00pm) will be screened daily. 2 Aparant Maand 2009
  Aparant Maand 2009, Goa's biggest handicrafts, art & cultural exposition is being held from 24th to 28th Jan, 2009 at Parking Ground, opp Suda Municipal Market Complex, Near Garden, Curchorem - Goa.
3 Khadi Utsav
  An exhibition cum sale of Khadi garments and other products prepared by various artisans of Canacona organised by Kasturba Gandhi National Trust is being held at Palolem beach from January 26 to 30.
4 Rajasthan Handicrafts Exhibition
  'Rajasthali', an exhibition cum sale of handicrafts and textiles of Rajasthan is being held from 21st Jan to 4th Feb at Clube Nacional, 1st Floor, M.G.Road, Panjim from 10 am to 9 pm. Wooden, Marble Items, Jaipuri Quilts, Blue Pottery, Brassware, Textiles and lots more will be available at the exhibition.
5 Mahotsav at Margao
  'Shrikrishna Raas-Leela', a Mahotsav organised by the Mathagram Sanskrutik Manch is being held from January 21 to January 28 at the Ravindra Bhavan in Margao from 7 pm.

2  MP for separate postal circle for Goa
  Stating that Goa's merger with Maharashtra to make one postal circle made no sense, Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik on Monday made a strong case for a separate postal circle for the State and informed that the Centre was taking a re-look at the matter.

3  Sidhu for diversification of tourism in Goa
  The Governor, Dr Shivinder Singh Sidhu has said that it was high time that the state took concrete measures to diversify Goa's tourism from a uni-dimensional beach-oriented tourism to other equally attractive and economically viable areas, as tourism development occupied a key element in the state's economy.
