1	Handicraft Fair
	An exclusive exhibition cum sale & live demo of handicraft & products made by NGO's artisans is being held from 17th to 26th Jan at Sunshine Building, B - Bazar, Opp. Hindu Pharmacy, Loyola - Fatorda Road, Madgaon Goa from 11.00 to 9.00.

2	Rajasthan Handicrafts Exhibition
	'Rajasthali', an exhibition cum sale of handicrafts and textiles of Rajasthan will be held from 21st Jan to 4th Feb at Clube Nacional, 1st Floor, M.G.Road, Panjim from 10 am to 9 pm. Wooden, Marble Items, Jaipuri Quilts, Blue Pottery, Brassware, Textiles and lots more will be available at the exhibition.

3	Mahotsav at Margao
	'Shrikrishna Raas-Leela', a Mahotsav organised by the Mathagram Sanskrutik Manch will be held from January 21 to January 28 at the Ravindra Bhavan in Margao from 7 pm.

4	Chintamanis jewellery expo
	Chintamanis jewellery exhibition is being held from Jan 20 to Jan 22 at Hotel Mandovi in Panjim. The highlight of the exhibition is the 'Pressure Setting' diamond jewellery. Diamonds, Gold and precious stones will also be on display and sale.

5	Kala-Rang Festival of Dance, Music and Theatre
	Kala-Rang Festival of Dance, Music and Theatre is being held from Jan 19th to Jan 21st at the Ravindra Bhavan in Margao. On Jan 21st, there will be a vocal recital by Shunak Abhsheki. For more details contact 0832 3263061.

6	Music for Peace and Harmony Concert

1	Schools in Goa witness gender disparity
	Although Goa boasts of one of the highest literacy rates - between 82 and 83 per cent - in the country, the state has some gender disparity in education in favour of boys, in the school age population in Goa, as informed by the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-3) for Goa. However, it is not very pronounced, adds the survey.

2	Promoters unwilling to part with SEZ land in Goa
	The State Government, though a year ago said 'no' to SEZs in Goa, the promoters who bought land on lease from the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), for SEZ projects, have no intention to give up the land.

3	Children's theatre to be promoted in 125 aided schools in Goa
	In compliance with the State Cultural Policy 2007, which calls for a boost to the popular field of theatre and dramatics, the directorate of art and culture has decided to promote children's theatre in over 125 aided schools in the state from the next academic year onwards.
