| A panel discussion on education, triggered by a paper from the Indian Social Institute, New Delhi, written by the noted sociologist, Prof Rudolf Heredia and titled ‘Education for liberation towards a pedagogic model for social transformation’, held at the 3rd D D Kosambi Festival of Ideas, at Kala Academy, on Tuesday observed that the present day education should not only be inclusive and give way for social transformation, but also allow the students to choose subjects of their choice and furthermore, provide them with scope for thinking. It also lamented that objective of education is limited to securing jobs. | |
