4 Lokotsav 09
  Lokotsav 09, a National festival of folk art and handicrafts organised by the Govt. of Goa, Directorate of Art and Culture, Goa and West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur is being held from 4 to 13 January at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy in Panjim. The exhibition is open to the public from 10 am to 9 pm.
5 North East Crafts Bazaar
  North-East Crafts Bazaar a demonstration, exhibition-cum-sale of exquisite crafts by artisans from the North-Eastern states of India is being held at Fatorda in Margao from 23rd December to 23rd January from 10:00am to 9:00pm.

1  Konkani play in Limca Book
  'Nandadeepa', a popular Konkani play staged by the Mumbai-based Konkani Triveni Kala Sangama, has entered the Limca Book of Records this year for being the first Konkani play performed by amateur artistes to have completed over 50 performances in various places all over the country.

2  PM assures setting up of tribunal to settle Mhadei issue
  The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh on Wednesday assured the all-party Goan delegation that the central government would soon look into the matter of setting up a tribunal to adjudicate the dispute on Mhadei river water diversion between Goa and Karnataka.

4  Goa Govt invokes GESMA against oil workers
  Acting swiftly to ensure supply of petrol and diesel for which Goa suffered on Thursday, the State government invoked Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act and directed employees of the petroleum companies to resume work on January 9.
