2	Book Fair
	A book fair is being held from Jan 5 to Jan 11 from 9 am to 8.00 pm at Gomant Vidhya Niketan in Margao. 6	Lokotsav 09
	Lokotsav 09, a National festival of folk art and handicrafts organised by the Govt. of Goa, Directorate of Art and Culture, Goa and West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur is being held from 4 to 13 January at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy in Panjim. The exhibition is open to the public from 10 am to 9 pm.

7	North East Crafts Bazaar
	North-East Crafts Bazaar a demonstration, exhibition-cum-sale of exquisite crafts by artisans from the North-Eastern states of India is being held at Fatorda in Margao from 23rd December to 11th January from 10:00am to 9:00pm.

2	Goa to be first State to kick-start International Year of Astronomy
	Goa would be the first State in India to kick-start the International Year of Astronomy 2009 on January 10 little ahead of its official inauguration on January 15 and 16 in Paris under the aegis of the UN, the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) and the International Astronomical Union.

3	3 SEZs in Goa can be denotified on developers' consent: Centre
	The Centre has reiterated that the three notified special economic zones (SEZs) in Goa could be denotified only if the state government and the developers of these SEZs agree to it. Goa chief minister Digambar Kamat met commerce and industry minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday to ask for the Centre's support in denotifying the SEZs.
