1  Security tightened in Goa, says CM
  The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat on Thursday said the state government has beefed up the security in the state following the terror threat as perceived by the national intelligence, and would leave no stone unturned to provide security to the tourists arriving in the state for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

2  Commandos call on Goa hotels every hour
  Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) of commandos are visiting five star hotels in Goa on an hourly basis. North Goa has three such teams, while South Goa has two. "We have intensified patrolling along the coastal belt and in the last few days we have been screening everybody there, including overstaying foreigners," Tony Fernandes, Dy SP (security), said.

  The Goa government has launched a drive against foreigners who overstay and those residing without proper permits.
