With the outset of fierce competition in the hospitality sector, it has become quintessential to bring about originality, difference and spice of the different dimensions of the industry, including the beverage service. The methodical service of drinks has become quaint and out dated and holds on special attraction resulting to its diminishing eminence.

It all had started with the movie "Cocktail" starring Tom Cruise, a film of its kind dealing mainly with a new aspect of beverage service, "Flair Bartending" it stands apart from the regular bartending mainly due to the extraordinary tricks and tat it displays with the bottles, shakers and the like. Also flair bartending had introduced a score of new innovative cocktails. This conjured-up art of flairing and cocktail-preparation constitutes the foundation of flair bartending.

The demand for flair bartenders had been increasing at a very rapid scale, clubs and discotheques having an incomplete scenario without the presence of a flair bartender. Commercial metropolitan hotels also have stated seeking for trained flair bartenders to increase beverage sales and synthesize profitable bar operations.

"BAR-TRENDZ" is one of the only workshops to provide flair bartending training in Goa. The school is associated with the Madam Rosa distillery, Smirnoff vodka, El Charro Tequila, Sula Vineyards and Pitu Cachaca (Brazilian Spirit). Shawn D'souza one of India's well known flair bartender handles the training session personally.

Shawn started training bartenders ever since he was doing his degree. He loved the passion to train the boys, as he was not privileged to be training by others but has learnt major part of his bartending himself. Till date about 200 plus students have being trained under shawn. Bar Trendz also make sure if there is an opportunity for job placement, it is given to the students.
