Founded in 1966, Sharada Mandir School was set up to fulfill the long felt need for quality education in Panjim from the Elementary to the Secondary level. It was the first school in Goa affiliated to The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination. The Sharada Mandir Trust resolved to expand its educational vistas and to make its activity broad-based and relevant to the times. The institution is made up of four separate sections: Elementary, Junior, Middle and Secondary integrally inter-linked in a common commitment of academic excellence and holistic development of its students and offering the curriculum of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE). Since 1966, the Institution has grown to its present strength of around 1800 students and 100 faculty members. A low student-faculty ratio ensures small classes, encourages a close relationship and invites interaction.

At the Elementary level, children between 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years receive an informal introduction to the learning of basic concepts, perception, visual understanding and expression-a process that stimulates creativity and imagination, essentially consistent with their future growth. The programme at this level allows flexibility, self-direction and the ability to pursue individual interests. The transition to the Junior School is both gradual and accommodating; and we believe that the friendly, supportive, yet challenging atmosphere in this section has an interactive nature which encourages the child to both give and receive, and to grow in knowledge and character.

As the student continues to inch upwards to the Secondary level, our prime focus is on developing a clear, creative and comprehensive thinking process, learning to transmit ideas, facts and feelings creatively and effectively. We believe that the questions of "why" or "why not" are as important as that of "how"?

The overall set-up is large enough to provide the required resources and facilities and yet small enough to have a personalized approach to the primary needs of a child. Our team of dedicated staff constantly ensures close interaction and individual attention and care, since our most important goal is to keep the students at the centre of all that we do.
